When Fried Eggs Fly

Synopsis
“Visionary teacher Bruce Mack makes a commitment to get 162 eight-year-olds in a New York City public school to compose, perform and record original music with their parents. The topic is pressing: saving the environment. Serious rehearsals. No cutting corners. And it has to have a great beat. A film for both kids and adults. When Fried Eggs Fly shows how to beat the odds and get a song made.”

The focus of this documentary is on my approach to teaching children music, allowing them to express themselves as they learn how to function within a community, and how I brought a school community together to accomplish a goal. The work is based around a project I created called “The Chords That Bind Us” and was documented by Constantine Limperis (a parent) in 2005. It debuted and was featured in the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival and is currently in rotation on the Starz Cable Network. This film should be very interesting to ALL Educators, yet fun and inspiring for the entire family!
